Ruth Damery Walls My thoughts of you and your wonderful mother March 25, 2012
To all of you I have held you in my prayers. It was always such a delight when I would be home in Blue Mound and had the opportunity to see your mother. I remember Maxine as always being the calm, quiet force amongst all the hilarity we all created as kids at Bethel church. She had a delightful laugh and a warm sense of humor. We were all blessed to have her in our lives. May God hold you all firmly in his arms as you make your way through this tremendous loss of your dear mother.

Many prayers for you all,

My wife Angie and I thank you all for your kind thoughts, words and prayers during this difficult time.  The support of all is comforting and appreciated.  The song you hear while viewing the pictures was written by our daughter Allison.  She is singing and playing the guitar on this recording.  We were blessed at the funeral with this song as Allison sang and played the guitar.  She was accompanied by our son Josiah on the keys, our nephews (Richard’s sons) Philip on the Dobro (lap-steel guitar) and Jonathan on the string bass.  As they ministered this song to us, I was blessed with a memory and a tribute to Mom that I will never forget.  They touched our hearts in a miraculous way.  God has truly extended His compassion to me.

It was deeply moving to view the photo montage that you have done as a memorial to my beloved Aunt Maxine.  It brings back so many good memories of her, as well as of my father David Kent Clark, and mother Elizabeth Clark, of blessed memory, who also appear in several photos.  What a beautiful multi-generational family Maxine has brought into the world, people whose external beauty is matched and exceeded by their good character and kind-heartedness.

I remember Aunt Maxine's kindness, her intelligence, her multiple interests and avid reading.  I really looked forward to her visits every time I came back to Illinois to visit my father.  She was so caring, she'd usually visit me twice each time I came back.  Her life has touched so many people, and her memory is a blessing.

I wish you comfort and healing in your time of loss.  Maxine had a long, full, and active life, but when one is as close to her as her children were, it makes losing their mother that much harder.  May you find comfort knowing that she is in God's good hands, and may He help, with time, to ease the pain of your loss.

Aunt Maxine's family,
I was so saddened to hear of the passing of Aunt Maxine.  She was a wonderful woman who was loved by all who knew her. She always had a kind word for everyone she met.  She was an intelligent and beautiful woman. She will be missed by all of her family and friends.  I enjoyed my many visits with her on my trips back to Illinois.  My thoughts and prayers go out to her family at this time of sorrow.
       Love,
